PROJECT'S ACTIVITIES JUNE, JULY 2021

Activities in Escola Básica e Secundária de Canelas from Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal

To celebrate the World Oceans Day, the OnGaia - Association for the Protection of the Environment -  organized, on June 8 th , a beach cleaning action along 2.5 km of the seafront of the village of Madalena, more precisely between Marbelo Beach and Madalena Beach - South. With the participation of a group of students from Canelas School, with different ages, guided by their teachers, the initiative was as a huge success in raising awareness for the preservation of the planet. It must be mentioned that the students involved in this action take part in an Erasmus+ project called Heal the Sea, dedicated to preserving the oceans and seas. The whole activity was organized in collaboration with the Canelas School's Health Education and the Eco-Schools projects. With a single activity, it was worked flexibility, inclusion and the essential learning skills acquired by our students.

To enrich the Heal the Sea project, our students selected a song about the sea "O Homem do Leme", originally performed by a rock band from Porto. Throughout the year they arranged the music, rehearsed and performed the theme. We made a short film with this activity and we present the performers on Emaze tool.
